It's a well made shoe and the color and look is true to what you see on the computer screen. Closed Heel Grizzlies are significantly lighter in weight than the Open Heeled Grizzlies - not sure why. Sizing for the shoe is difficult. Note that sizing doesn't correspond to the AT Hardsole slippers - order one size down from the AT size. For me, my regular size was an entire size too big, the arch didn't fit at all. The next size down, the arch fit perfectly, but then my toes hit the top of the shoe, like 'wear a hole in the top' type of pressure, though not necessarily uncomfortable, I don't want to wear a hole in the top either. Unfortunate, because I really wanted a closed heel Haflinger wool clog. Ordering/Shipping times were longer than usual and untrackable because they ship from the distributor. If they fit, they seem great. Sizing is the main issue here. According to reviews, Haflinger sizing seems very inconsistent.
I purchased a pair of Haflinger closed back clogs about 10 years ago. I wore them a few times outside and liked them. Then in the summer of 2017 I developed plantar fasciitis and needed a pair of indoor shoes. I found my Haflingers at the back of my closet. I've worn them everyday in the house since with excellent results for my condition. They finally started to come apart at the back. I looked all over for replacements and found them at Dodd's Shoes. I ordered a 37 As that's what my current clogs are, but when they arrived they were a bit smaller so I returned them for a 38. I just received them today and they are perfect! Dodd's Shoes have extremely fast shipping and excellent customer service. They paid for sending the first pair back as I reordered a replacement pair. I would certainly order from them again. Thanks!
These are amazing shoes! The wool is fine quality; they look like AND are a high end shoe. They are comfortable. I thought my heal, moving up and down, would drive me crazy, but it's good. The fabric that lines the heal area is smooth, it allows for heal movement. My flat feet are getting awesome arch support.
The length is true to expectations and, the width is what I expected it to be as well. I ordered a men's 42 medium for a woman's 11. My job requires me to NOT wear clogs, so I got the GZH44 Grizzly closed heal in Charcoal.
I am very satisfied with my purchase and look forward to owning them for a long time, and purchasing another pair of Haflinger's in the near future.
